Toronto Sun
Retired Canadian WWE superstar Trish Stratus has long been celebrated for her both her athleticism and sex appeal, something she believes goes hand in hand. "I think when you look at someone who's fit and strong, they're also perceived as mentally strong," Stratus explains. "It takes a lot of work to have that kind of body, and if a person doesn't have it, they want it."

August 03, 2008-WWE.com's Spiciest Moments: #5 Spicy Dish

Even Terrell Owens, Nicollette Sheridan and the NFL would have blushed at the scandalous locker room encounter involving two champions, a Chairman and one of the Sexiest Women on Television in Nov. 2004. However, it scores a huge touchdown in the world of sports-entertainment as WWE.com's No. 5 “Spiciest Moment.” It seemed like business as usual that Monday night on Raw: Then-Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin was geared up for ring action inside the Raw locker room, brandishing his title as he prepared for a crucial Six-Man Tag Team Match. But he got more action than he bargained for when the sultry temptress Trish Stratus appeared from nowhere, wearing nothing more than a towel and face guard (the latter courtesy of a freshly broken nose from Victoria) and some extremely “Spicy” thoughts on her mind. Although Shelton urged her that his partners would need him in the ring, the then-Women's Champion responded through devilish eyes, “What about my needs? What about Trish?” The situation appeared to cool down when the two Superstars were caught in the act by Mr. McMahon himself, who immediately put a stop to the impending debauchery before, as he put it, the incident caused “the moral fabric of America to disincarnate before him.” However, after a perplexed Benjamin had left the room, the smoldering fires of animalistic hunger erupted like never before. Without warning, the irresistible vixen dropped her cloth to the ground, causing the Chairman’s eyes to bug out of his head and his heart rate to triple. The enticing Diva threw herself into his waiting arms, while the Chairman blurted out to our fans in the arena and at home, "Are you ready for some wrestling?!"

July 29, 2008-Michelle McCool Hopes to Follow in the Footsteps of Trish & Fabulous Moolah

McCool’s name was carved into the sports-entertainment history books forever. Now, when fans think of the most prolific women competitors in WWE history, they must wonder if McCool will have the same storied career as WWE Hall of Famer Fabulous Moolah or seven-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus. “I truly feel like Fabulous Moolah is the pioneer for women in sports-entertainment. I don't think anyone can deny her accomplishments or the road she paved for women wrestlers.” McCool explained. “I think Trish Stratus helped with the evolution of ‘Divas.’ She was the epitome of beauty and athleticism all wrapped into one. I don’t see myself right there now,” she continued, wary of getting ahead of herself. “But that’s a place I aspire to be. I think this is the first step toward making history and becoming a legend.”

July 27, 2008-WWE.com's Top 25 Finishing Moves: #18 Stratusfaction

Trish Stratus' rise through WWE and into the record books as the seven-time Women's Champion was built on her sweat and tears in the ring, and capped off by her finisher - Stratusfaction. Once Trish gripped in a headlock and signaled the ever-famous finger to the air, her opponent, and our fans alike, knew the end was near. Springing off the ropes and dropping into a bulldog, Stratus became the face of women's wrestling before retiring in 2006 - on top of the world with a victory in her hometown.
IGN: Ten Memorable Trish Stratus Moments
July 25, 2008 - Here's a controversial statement: Trish Stratus was the most valuable member of WWE this decade. Did she do the biggest buyrates? Of course not. The biggest ratings? Not those either. What she did do, though, was give legitimacy to a women's division that was farcical most of the time when she wasn't in it, re-legitimizing female wrestling in the country -- without Trish Stratus, there'd be no TNA Knockouts division -- and, more importantly, giving that same level of legitimacy to any person she stepped in the ring with, male or female. When she retired, Stratus got a standing ovation from Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler -- two men who have been in the business over 30 years, and aren't exactly impressed by whoever the latest Diva is. That's why Trish is a likely Hall of Famer, and why she deserves to have this latest edition of the Friday Wrestling List look back at her ten most memorable moments.
